Flag Day Celebration
The Flag Day Celebration is always held on the first Saturday of June. It begins with “the longest parade on the shortest route.”
Children are encouraged to participate by decorating their bikes and/or wagons using the colors of the American Flag. There is a contest for Best Bike and Best Float!
Fireworks are shot at dusk that evening. The best viewing is behind Salem Elementary School (7806 Salem Road). Festivities include live music and a food truck.

The official celebration of Flag Day is June 14th, which was made official by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916.
